  • Lehigh Valley Hospital & Health Network
    ... is considered one of the nation's finest regional hospitals. In 2003, Lehigh Valley Hospitals' three hospitals, two in Allentown and one in Bethlehem, were honored to receive the prized National Quality Health Care award, presented by the National Committee for Quality in Health Care, based in Washington, D.C. In the same year, U.S. News ranked Lehigh Valley Hospital & Health Network highest in the region for heart care and heart surgery. LVH has consistently been named by U.S. News for the past six years, in specialties such as heart care, diabetes, endocrinology, urology, geriatrics, and pulmonary.  In addition to outstanding physicians, many of whom are members of Penn State's medical faculty, nursing is central to the quality of our care at LVH. All three of the hospitals have earned the designation 'Magnet Hospital' from the American Nursing Association.  LVH's Intensive Care Unit has also been honored as one of the eleven best in the nation, by the Society for Critical Care Medicine and the Institute for Health, and our Respiratory Care Unit has been honored as first in the nation for its patient care and outcomes.  With a staff of more than 7,000, LVH  is proud to serve their community in other outstanding specialties.   • St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network
    ... is the only area hospital to have ever been named as one of the 100 top hospitals in the United States. St. Luke's has twice been named to this prestigious award given annually by Solucient, the nation's largest and most respected health information resource. In addition, St. Luke's Regional Heart Center is the region's most nationally honored heart care program. St. Luke's has been named multiple times as one of the nation's best cardiology and open-heart surgery hospitals according to Solucient, in their "100 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals:  Benchmarks for Success" study, and four consecutive times by U.S. News and World Report's annual "America's Best Hospitals" issue.  St. Luke's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has been named one of the "100 Top Hospitals: Benchmarks for Success," an independent, objective study released by the Solucient Leadership Institute.   St. Luke's was the first hospital in Pennsylvania to do robotic surgery and the first hospital in the region to do robotic heart surgery.  A major teaching hospital, St. Luke's is one of only 400 members of the prestigious Council of Teaching Hospitals.
  • Sacred Heart Hospital is a 241 bed acute care facility with 20 skilled nursing beds located in the center of Allentown, the Lehigh Valley's largest city.   • Easton Hospital is an acute care teaching hospital serving approximately 300,000 residents of Northampton County and five surrounding counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Today, Easton Hospital retains not only the caring, compassionate tradition established when it was founded in 1890, but also the professional expertise, advanced technology and broad range of services characteristic of a major medical center. Nearly 400 physicians provide primary and specialty care.**
  • Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital is one of the most comprehensive rehabilitation institutions in the world, offering comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation, day rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, long-term care for the severely disabled, vocational services, long-term acute care, subacute care and wellness.
    ... recently, Good Shepherd established a 32-bed long-term acute care unit within Lehigh Valley Hospital and extended its services to the Bethlehem area through Good Shepherd Muhlenberg Rehabilitation Center.***
